About
I’m a 30-something chick who is trying to find the balance between being a wife, a new mom and an artist while still entertaining the geek in me.
The Wife: I have been married for 3 years to a guy I met at work. He happens to be the nicest guy on the planet and my best friend. I am thankful he puts up with my shenanigans.
The Mom: I am the mother to an adorable baby boy who was conceived during a tropical storm and decided to bust out of the studio apartment know as my womb 5 weeks earlier than expected. I started having contractions during our childbirth class tour of Labor and Delivery at our local hospital. True story. You can find all the pregnancy and baby stuff you could ever want at my other blog I Can Grow People.
The Artist: I make my living as a scenic artist for theatre and performing arts. I have spent the last year trying to rekindle my personal artistic voice since my own art took a backseat (the waaaay back, even) to my professional work during the last 8 years.
The Geek: I geek out over a lot of things–music, trivia and boardgames, crossword puzzles, argyle, coffee, comedy…the list is endless, really…
Thanks for stopping by and PLEASE COMMENT! I like to know who is out there!

Hey Lori,
It’s nice to know that people I like (you) are a bit farther down a road I seem to be on myself and are finding that they didn’t give anything up, really. You just expanded on who you are. I’ve lost the artist, perhaps some geek, as I am slowly becoming (yipes) a wife. Even now as I sit at the library waiting to check out Disney DVDs and a Redwall book (did I say I lost some geek? Lies) in an attempt to hold on the Meryn of yore, your blog is refreshing and eases my worries more than I can say. I look forward to reading more.
Hi Meryn! It has taken me a long time to get this place. I am really lucky that my husband is so supportive, encouraging and wants me to do things that make me happy–even if I am not exactly sure what those things are!
Props to you for juggling it all. Not an easy task at times I’m sure. Keep kicking ass and thanks for putting your story out there in the world.
